Dr. Bruce A. McDowell is President of Santiago Theological Seminary in Santiago, Dominican Republic since 2018. Formerly he served as Minister of Global Outreach at Tenth Presbyterian in Philadelphia, PA, where was on the pastoral team, 1982-2017. Dr. McDowell was born to Baptist (SBC) missionaries in Paraguay. He has traveled and ministered in 48 countries, where he has baptized many new believers. Throughout his career, he has been involved in leading ministry to international students from all parts of the world and leading short-term teams to serve with Tenth Church’s global partners. He holds degrees from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (M.A.T.S.), Westminster Theological Seminary (D.Min.), and American University of Biblical Studies (Ph.D.). He served as adjunct professor of practical theology (missions) at Westminster Theological Seminary, and has lectured at many other seminaries. He has authored eight books. Dr. McDowell’s wife, Anne, an instructor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at University of Pennsylvania, previously ministered in Indonesia. He has two adult daughters who serve the Lord and a toddler foster daughter.
